Samuel Negus lives with his wife and daughter in beautiful Black Mountain, NC, where he teaches at the CreatEd Institute. He enjoys mostly simple things such as hiking, reading, conversation, cheese, beer, bread, and cheering for utterly disappointing sports teams. He writes when he thinks he has something worth conveying.
Timothy Russell majored in Philosophy, works in magazine publishing, and dreams of writing the next great American novel. In his spare time he writes fiction, reads the literary classics, and co-hosts the podcast Literary Leviathans with his sister, Elizabeth. He also loves The Good Place, The Babylon Bee, and any film directed by Christopher Nolan or Wes Anderson.
Tymon Zhou attends the Elon University School of Law, having graduated with a political science major from Brigham Young University. He enjoys reading and playing piano in his spare time. He writes to explore and refine his thinking.
Elizabeth Zabik is a Master's candidate in Public History at North Carolina State University, with a BA in History and Latin from Hillsdale College. She enjoys reading about history and theology and learning more about the world around her. She writes in order to organize and share her thoughts.
A graduate of Benedictine College, Nicholas currently resides in Michigan while pursuing his PhD in Politics. He enjoys reading, cooking, brewing beer, and generally living life well. He writes so that he and others can learn how to fall more passionately in love with this world, to be contemplative souls in a world that has forgotten how to do so.
Jared Bier is a high school English and language arts teacher. He enjoys reading, writing, and traveling.
Bino Socrates is a John Jay fellow from the Spring 2018 class, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Santo Tomas. Attending a seminar at the Witherspoon Institute inspired him to learn more from the West about religion in the public sphere, especially as he considers pursuing a career in academia. He aims to contribute towards bridging the gap between the secular outlook of some of his country's intellectual leaders and the deep-seated orientation towards Christian values of the majority of Filipino people.
Anna was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. After earning her English degree from Wheaton College, she had a stint teaching American Literature at a private high school. She currently lives in Chicago.
